How reviews work
You should be able to trust what you read here. These are the rules every review follows, and the ones companies follow too.
Who can write a review
Anyone who hired a pest control company can review it, with no account needed. We email you a link to confirm the review is yours, which also helps us reach you if something needs a second look. Each email address can review a company once.
A person reads every review
Nothing goes live automatically. A moderator reads each review and its photos before publishing. We usually do this within 1 to 2 business days, and we email you when your review is live.
We publish reviews that describe a real experience with the company, positive or negative. We don't publish reviews that:
- come from the company itself, its staff, or a competitor
- were paid for, or offered in exchange for a discount or gift
- share someone's personal details, such as a technician's phone number
- include threats, hate speech, or profanity aimed at a person
- are about a different business or don't describe the service
Ratings
Every review gives an overall rating from 1 to 5 stars, plus four detailed ratings: effectiveness, price, punctuality, and professionalism. A company's score is the average of its published reviews' overall ratings. When we rank search results, we weigh how many reviews a company has, so a single 5-star review doesn't outrank dozens of strong ones.
What companies can and can't do
Companies can claim their profile after we confirm they run the business. Then they can reply to reviews in public and receive quote requests. Companies can't edit, hide, or remove reviews, and they can't pay us to do it. Featured companies appear higher in some lists and are always labelled Featured.
Reporting a review
See a review that breaks these rules? Use the Report link under it. A moderator will look at it. Reporting doesn't remove a review automatically; we only remove reviews that break the rules above.
Demo listings
Some listings are sample data so you can see how the site works. They carry a Demo badge and will be removed.
